Distance
During my six months at Gobelins I had the honor of joining a team of 3rd years on a graduation film. I was given the chance to work with the very talented, Jonathan Vermersch, Todd DeJong, Etienne Metois, Wandrille Maunoury, and Karina Gazizova. Also, the excellent music was done by Martin Sumeire
Here is a link to a reel of some of the work that I did for the film. The music is a reference to this beautiful video.
I was very, very lucky to have been a part of this film. Working with those guys is something that I have missed deeply since I returned to California. The whole school is full of some of the most talented and kindest people I have ever met. My time in Paris was an incredible, inspiring experience. Thanks to everybody that helped out on the film and put up with my poor attempts at french. Your hospitality and care meant so much to me. Merci beaucoup! C'était génial.
Be sure to check out all of the graduation films from this year. Plus if you have not, go see the 2012 Annecy shorts from the second years.

During my visit to London last month, I went inside an indoor market to
hide from the rain. There were violinists playing as well as a woman
singing opera quiet beautifully. Next to me, this man was analyzing her
performance with a lot of detail. He told me that he was a concert pianist. He was
really nice and bought me tea in the cafeteria of a train museum. All
while telling me about the state of musical theater in England and its politics.
Looking back, I realize that was the hardest I've ever partied on spring break
